About
The Intermediate Division consists of students in Grades 7 and 8. Peak Centre Academy offers a strong academic program and keeps the needs of the young adolescent in mind when planning Academic and Athletic experiences. The curriculum at PCA meets or exceeds the standards set by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The small class size ensures that teachers are able to provide opportunities for both enrichment and support where needed. The teachers are committed to helping each student reach his or her full potential. The intention is to create a classroom atmosphere that ensures that each student’s learning needs are understood and met and that each child becomes a well-rounded independent and confident student.
During the Intermediate years it is important that students successfully accomplish the learning skills that are set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education. These skills include Organization, Initiative, Responsibility, Self-Regulation, as well as Independent Work and Collaboration which pertain to the environment in which the student works. Mastering these skills is essential for student success in the High School years and beyond.
These transition years are meant to guide students from childhood to young adulthood. At Peak we believe the habits students acquire, the processes they adopt, and the values that are established during Grade 7 and 8 will be important throughout the rest of your school career.
